The WASDA Scholarship Fund Board of Directors proudly awards the following students with $1,500 to use toward higher education! Each scholarship is renewable for up to four years based on maintaining a 3.0 GPA (or higher). The Recipients of the Matt Stager Memorial Scholarship for 2025 are listed below:
Sydney Bailey, Core & Main
Hello! My name is Sydney Bailey. My father is the National Operations Specialist for Core and Main, and I am honored to be granted the opportunity both to apply for and receive the Matt Stager Scholarship. I graduated as a homeschool student through Burge Terrace Home Educators Academy with academic honors this past May, and I will attend Grove City College in Grove City, Pennsylvania in the fall. I greatly enjoyed my high school experience, and I am looking forward to all the new adventures that college will bring! I will be majoring in English with a minor in classical education with the hope to one day teach English in private schools and eventually pursue higher education to earn my master’s degree. I would love to teach at the college level one day. The Matt Stager Scholarship will greatly help me in achieving my goals by not only helping me pay for college, but allowing me to devote more of my time for college preparation and studies. I am so grateful for this amazing opportunity!

Hello, my name is Connor Morrison and I am a proud recipient of the 2025 Matt Stager Memorial Scholarship! I will be attending THE Ohio State University for the next 4 years of my education and will be pursuing a business degree throughout that time. I currently am undecided on what specific business specialization I would like to pursue a degree in but I am interested in finance, marketing, and information technologies. I am excited to continue to grow my leadership and communication skills while creating strong foundational knowledge of the business field so that I can achieve my long term career goal of working in the business environment and making a meaningful impact.

My name is McKenna Peirce and I will be attending the University of Edinburgh in Scotland this fall to study French & International Politics. I plan to then obtain my Master’s Degree in Diplomacy Studies in order to work as a Political Affairs Officer for the United Nations (where one of the main goals is ensuring everyone has access to clean water, much like WASDA) or to work for the U.S. Department of State. Thank you to WASDA for this opportunity to fund my studies abroad. Seeing firsthand the positive impact WASDA programs such as this one have had has inspired me to seek a career in a mission-driven field.

Hi, my name is Kolton West, I received the Matt Stager Memorial Scholarship. I’m a graduate of Live Oak High School, where I was a four-year wrestler, two-time state placer and captain of the wrestling team. I maintained a GPA of 3.996 during high school. In the fall I will be attending Southeastern Louisiana University to study Nursing. After graduating from Nursing School, I plan further my career by studying to become a Nurse Anesthetist.
