WASDA Scholarship Recipients 2025

The WASDA Scholarship Fund Board of Directors proudly awards the following students with $1,500 to use toward higher education!  Each scholarship is renewable for up to four years based on maintaining a 3.0 GPA (or higher). The Recipients of the WASDA Scholarship for 2025 are listed below:

My name is Audrey Dearborn, I am excited to begin my journey at the University of Texas in the fall. In Austin I will pursue a degree in biology as well as join student organizations such as intramural sports and greek life. After I graduate, I plan to attend medical school in hopes to one day become a doctor.

Faith Murray, American Cast Iron Pipe Co.

My name is Faith Murray and I will be attending Mississippi State University and majoring in Educational Psychology in the fall. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to be a recipient for this scholarship, it truly means so much to me! The WASDA scholarship will help me fulfill my dreams and aspirations with becoming a Speech Pathologist. In the future after I finish obtaining my undergraduate degree in Educational Psychology, I plan on furthering my education to acquire my PhD in the same degree.

Molly Prendergast, Clow Valve Company 

Hello! My name is Molly Prendergast, and I am a recent high school graduate from Oskaloosa, Iowa. In high school, I participated in many extracurricular activities, including private cello instruction, orchestra, choir, theater, National Honor Society, student council, George Daily Youth Theater, hospital volunteering, and job-shadowing surgeons, which opened my eyes to my career choice. I had the honor of graduating as the valedictorian of my class, with a 4.0 GPA. In the fall, I will be studying biochemistry and music on a pre-med track. After my undergraduate education, I will attend medical school and become a doctor. I am very grateful for WASDA’s support of my educational journey.

My name is Josie Santjer and I just graduated from Southwest Christian High School in Chaska, Minnesota. I graduated Summa Cum Laude as the Salutatorian of my class and I am honored to be a recipient of the 2025 WASDA scholarship. I love to spend time with my family whether it's going on walks with our dog, relaxing at the lake, fishing, going to church, or watching the Vikings game. I am driven, hardworking, and beyond excited for my next steps. This fall I will be attending the University of Minnesota. I will be studying Finance and Accounting with a minor in Spanish. I am very grateful for the WASDA Scholarship as it will help me further my education.

My name is Lauren Simpson, and I'm from Birmingham, Alabama. This fall, I will begin my studies at Auburn University as a pre-nursing major, with the goal of becoming a travel nurse. I am incredibly grateful to have received this scholarship and look forward to using it to further my education. This opportunity inspires me to work even harder and reinforces my commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
